What Anxiety Symptoms Should You Be Aware Of?Anxiety has become a common occurrence in everybody's life, the world over. Therefore, in order to save ourselves from this disorder, we must be aware of all the basic anxiety symptoms. Nowadays, in the US itself, one out of every third individual is suffering from this deadly disease. So, what are the the most obvious anxiety symptoms? Or, putting it in simpler words, how would you know whether you are having an anxiety attack now, or whether you have had it in the past?
A typical panic-anxiety attack can happen any time during the day. You could be watching television, or perhaps out with your friends. This means that you need not be involved in a "stressful situation" per se, in order to experience this attack. Your head would suddenly feel light, and you would get a general feeling that the air around you has been suddenly left without any oxygen. You will feel as if you are not getting enough air. Then your heart would start pounding at a rapid speed thereby leaving you shaky, sweaty and unsteady. Within a few minutes, however, this would reach its peak. You might feel for a second that you are dying of a heart attack. But soon your senses would automatically come down to normalcy. And within, say, 2 minutes or so, you would be out of it. Hence, if you have ever experienced a similar episode any time in your life, you have seen what an anxiety-panic attack is like. Besides these general descriptions, there are other clinically approved symptoms as well. The first and foremost symptom is that of a terror in your heart which would be almost paralyzing. Suddenly you would become so nervous that your hands would start shaking. This would lead to a sense of nausea and lightheadedness. All this could also be accompanied by dizziness. Trembling, shaking and sweating are other symptoms which manifest during such an attack. You could also feel that as if you are being choked off air. This could lead to chest pains and a general feeling of distress. The other symptoms are that there could be a pronounced feeling of fear, fright and anxiety. You could also feel sudden hot flashes or sudden chills running through your body. There could also be a tingling sensation in your fingers and/or toes. You could feel as if someone is pinching pins or needles into you. And finally, all this would automatically lead you to believe that you are either dieing, or about to go crazy. Therefore, all the above mentioned anxiety symptoms must be looked into carefully and compared with your past experiences so that you know exactly what you might have been unknowingly going through. |
